How we work

Six steps, from your first contact to handover.

A straightforward method, with a record at every stage — so you always know where your project stands and what comes next. Every proposal starts with a site visit or a review of your design, which is why we do not publish standard prices or timescales.

How we work: six steps linked by a line Process diagram with six stations numbered 01 to 06, linked by a continuous line with arrows: initial conversation, site visit and review, detailed proposal, planning and programme, works with a daily record, handover and statutory warranty. 01 02 03 04 05 06
Six steps, from first contact to handover
  1. Initial conversation

By phone, email or WhatsApp, tell us what you want to do, where and by when. No design yet? We tell you what information we need to take the next step.

    In practice

    • Location and type of works
    • What you have in mind
    • Your timescale
  2. Site visit and review

Where the project calls for it, we visit your site and survey the existing building. If you already have a design, we go through the drawings and specification before we price the works, so that the proposal describes your project and not a standard one. The visit costs you nothing.

    In practice

    • Site visit, where needed
    • Survey of the existing building
    • Review of the design and measurements
  3. Itemised proposal

You receive a written proposal, itemised by section, that states what is included and — just as important — what is not, the materials specified, the terms for the works and the payment schedule with VAT shown separately. It is a document written to be compared with other proposals, section by section.

    In practice

    • Works itemised by section
    • Inclusions and exclusions
    • Terms for the works and for payment
  4. Planning and programme

Before anyone starts on site, we set the sequence of works, the teams and subcontractors needed, and the programme (the timetable of the works), phase by phase and task by task. That is the programme you will later see on your portal, task by task.

    In practice

    • Programme of works by phase
    • Coordination of teams and subcontractors
    • Ordering of materials
  5. On site, with a daily record

Every working day goes into the daily site report: photographs, who was on site and what was done. We track costs project by project against the proposal you approved, with expenses and invoices recorded and verified for tax purposes. If a task falls behind, it appears as delayed on your portal.

You follow all of this on the Client Portal in Abidon CRM, our own platform: the programme by phase with the status of each task, the photographs by room, the payment schedule and the documents, kept up to date by the site team. You can raise requests and report defects through the portal as well.

Every site displays a site board with the company name and licence number, as the law requires.

    In practice

    • Daily site report with photographs and attendance
    • Client Portal: programme, photographs, payments, documents and requests
    • Cost control per project: expenses and invoices recorded, with tax verification
    • Site safety: personal protective equipment, insurance and licence up to date

Legal obligations

What the law requires — and how you can check

  1. Written contract

Our construction contracts are always in writing and identify the parties, the licence, the scope of the works (including drawings and specification), the price and the completion period. (Portuguese Law no. 41/2015, article 26) You receive the contract before work starts.

  2. Site board

Every site displays a site board with the company name and licence number, as the law requires. (Law no. 41/2015, article 17(4)) Visible on site from the first day of the works.

  3. Site safety

Personal protective equipment issued and recorded for every worker; a health and safety plan where required; site safety coordination under Portuguese Decree-Law no. 273/2003. If you would like details of the insurance cover before you decide, ask us.

Prices and timescales

Prices and timescales: in writing, by section, after we see the project

A price per square metre given without seeing the project is a price that changes later — and it changes when you no longer have an alternative. We prefer to see the site or the design first and then present a written proposal itemised by section: what is included, what is not, the materials specified, the terms and the payment schedule with VAT shown separately.

The price and the completion period go into the written contract, and it is against the approved proposal that the costs of the works are tracked. The site visit and the proposal cost you nothing.
