Electrical installations

Your consumer unit (fuse board) is old, you need more sockets, or you have a new house to wire. We install to the design and test every circuit, including the RCDs — safety switches that cut power in a fault. A qualified technician certifies the installation before handover.

How we work in this specialism

How we apply our method to this specialism, in four steps. Every proposal starts with a site visit or a review of your drawings.

  1. Site visit and diagnosis

We inspect your consumer unit, circuits and existing installation.

  2. Itemised proposal

We set out boards, circuits, lighting points and sockets room by room, with quantities.

  3. Works with testing

We install conduit and cabling to the design, then test continuity, insulation and RCDs.

  4. Certification and handover

A qualified technician certifies the installation; we complete the mains connection and energising.

What we deliver

At handover, you receive the tested installation and its records:

  • An installation tested for continuity, insulation and RCD operation
  • Certification by a qualified technician
  • Mains connection and energising
  • As-built drawings showing the installed circuits
  • Statutory warranty

FAQ

Your questions about this specialism. The specific terms are always in your proposal and written contract.

Can I commission just the electrical work?

Yes. We carry out electrical work on its own in new builds or occupied homes, with testing and certification.

Does my old consumer unit need replacing?

We inspect the existing board. If it has no RCD protection, we propose a replacement with 30 mA RCDs and a breaker for each circuit, as set out in the design.

Will I receive electrical certification?

Yes. After continuity, insulation and RCD testing, a qualified technician issues the certification and the installation is connected to the mains.
